Scientology Volunteer Ministers Launch Yellow Tent Initiative in Milan

MILAN — 22 January 2026 — Scientology’s Volunteer Ministers have set up their iconic Yellow Tent to Milan, creating a public, walk-up space for hands-on assistance and listening support, alongside simple “Tools for Life” techniques that can be applied to common challenges. Already seen in major cities such as New York, London, Paris, Berlin, Madrid, Rome and Naples, the Yellow Tent is designed to let residents speak with trained volunteers and learn simple steps for handling stress, improving communication and resolving conflicts, as well as support after personal emergencies.

Volunteer Ministers are community volunteers trained through 19 introductory “Tools for Life” courses covering communication, study and learning methods, interpersonal relations and problem-solving. The approach is personal and practical: understand what the person faces and provide an actionable technique.

In Italy, Volunteer Ministers have supported communities during major emergencies including L’Aquila (2009) and Emilia-Romagna (2012), and have also assisted during flooding in the Marche region (2022) and Romagna (2023), working with local services and civil-protection partners to help clear homes and public spaces.

In Milan, activity expanded during the pandemic period with sanitisation efforts and support for families in need. Organisers say volunteers then continued with community care work, including more than 160 consecutive Saturdays of clean-up and assistance, extending across all nine municipalities of the city, while also contributing to solidarity efforts such as sending essential goods to Ukraine.

Ivan Arjona, Scientology’s representative to the EU, OSCE, Council of Europe and the United Nations, said: “Across Europe, communities grow stronger when citizens are equipped to help each other in practical ways—calmly, respectfully and without prejudice. Their work reflects a civic principle: support starts with listening and providing tools that help people regain the ability to act and contribute.”
